About the project
Ernest Hemingway once bet that he could write a novel in six words.
"For sale: baby shoes, never worn." - he won the bet.
Multistory want you to tell us your story, whether it is an important event or moment in your life, a lesson learnt or a poignant tale; if you can tell it in six words we want to hear it. We want to collect as many stories as possible, representing each of the six towns, to be featured on the 'Six' website and in a publication.
Multistory will re-create the project with the people from Sandwell and will invite residents of the six towns to tell their own story in six words. These could be captions from a moment in life, a comical thought, a poignant tale, words of wisdom and so on.
'Six' was inspired by the six word memoirs project run by SMITH Magazine in America.

SMITH Magazine have also produced a paperback book of six word stories titled "Not Quite What I Was Planning". The book is available online from Amazon.
